Nike Heart Rate Monitor

Nike has been ‘just doing it’ for quite awhile in the world of sports equipment. Nike’s venture into heart rate monitoring is no exception.

Nike is committed to the endless possibilities for human potential in sports.  It’s Nike’s goal to develop products that help athletes of every level of ability reach their potential.  And although shoes and apparel aid in gaining a competitive edge, it’s the ‘engine’ that truly drives the train.

And that engine is your heart!

Nike heart rate monitors are designed to help you reach your potential.  Here are a couple of popular Nike heart rate monitors to help you get there.

Nike Triax C5 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

The Triax C5 is a basic heart rate monitor for those looking for a device that’s easy to operate. It’s plain and simple feedback regarding your heart without the confusing bells and whistles. This Nike HRM displays total exercise time ECG-accurate average heart rate. If you want a customizable workout, the Triax C5 permits setting up multiple target heart rate training zones.

The Triax C5 is S-shaped designed for a comfortable fit and so you can read it easily. It functions like a regular watch with time and date displays plus an alarm. You can get real creative with your alarm settings to further enhance your training motivation!

The watch crystal is scratch-resistant mineral glass and it has a convenient one-touch backlighting system so you can read in dim light situations. The watch is water resistant up to 50-meters but the chest transmitter is only rated up to 30 meters.

The Nike Triax C5 is a nice heart rate monitor for keeping it simple and back to the basics.

Nike Triax C8 Heart Rate Monitor Watch in Blue or Black

This Nike HRM was designed by a coach with runners in mind. It’s made for simplicity because all you really should be focused during your workout is on your running. Not the watch.

The Triax C8 has a user-friendly readable display and much less button fumbling than other models require. A quick glance and you can see your continuous heart rate display. It comes with a stopwatch that will keep track of lap times and splits.

Yup, this is a runner’s watch and it lets you stay in “RUN” mode but you can press a button to see other modes as well. (This is called the “Coach Roy Benson Button”)

To keep in your target heart rate zone, just select the high and low heart rate and the watch beeps to alert you if you’re out of the zone. (C’mon, step it up!) It also tells you at the end of the run how long you stayed in your zone too.

If you’re a stats kind of athlete, you can review your lap times (up to 50) and see your average heart rate during your workout. This is great to track improvements and although a little techie, keep stats like this helps with motivation and reaching fitness goals.

There’s a great feature for walk/run conditioning with the 2-segment interval timer. Works will for those gut-wrenching interval workouts. (Got to love them!) Yes, the Triax C8 was custom-designed for fitness or competitive runners who want to step up their workout efficiency.

Nike Triax C6 Heart Rate Monitor – Black or Varsity Maize

This Nike model is for ‘club people’. Nike even tapped renowned fitness instructor Jay Blahnik to help design it.

Jay has a workout philosophy of ‘shoot for a feeling’ — it’s how you feel that matters most. So this monitor is designed for those who aren’t into numbers and formulas. You work with the feeling and then as your fitness improves, you can see, over time, how the numbers change. Improvement is always a great motivator! Face it, it’s why we work out. To get better. Healthier. Stronger.

The Nike Triax C6 displays your continuous heart rate. To help you find your heart rate zones on how you feel, there’s a 15 minute test called the Zone Finder.

This model has a stopwatch so you can keep track of your exercise time and there’s a calorie counter so you know if that breakfast bagel has been burned off yet.

The Triax C6 takes a cue from treadmill or stair climbing machines and displays a handy graph that helps you visualize your workouts. Many find this feature to be a great motivation.

It’s water resistant so yes, feel free to take the C6 with you in the pool for lap swims. And naturally, it has the watch features you’d expect like time and date plus there are two alarms you can program.

Users have said this unit is comfortable to wear. In fact, you’ll forget you have it on. It’s simple to operate and has helped them get the most out of their club workouts.

This is just a sample of Nike heart rate monitors.  With many Nike models to choose from, there’s one that will help you maximize your fitness ambitions.
